It HAD to be man-made, of course, but the prop team could have made it looked natural.

As a special drama, I expected the sets and CGI to be better than this. I could tell in 1 sec that they used plastic leaves and branches for their sets because the sets looked so sad. The sets, it was crystal clear that the sets were man-made. That part where Seo Hee trying to save Tae Sul irritated me so much because the CGI looked ridiculous. I had never rolled my eyes so often watching an ep but I rolled my eyes way too often watching ep 3. I’ll be honest, Park Shin Hye and Cho Seung Woo didn’t match. The romance here was definitely something that could have been omitted entirely and still have no significant impact to the plot. Some great dramas don’t even have romance in their plot. They shared fate and fight, yes, but that didn’t mean they should be together, right? Romance element is something that I always feel like almost all writers in SK throw in when they want to make the plot more dramatic which isn’t always the answer. Which… made me think there was no consistency here. The reasoning for one event didn’t apply to another similar event which made me go “ehh?” as several events occurred in this drama were pretty similar to one another but the reasoning and solving for each event was different. The writer could have written more detail/reasoning on this one. How he survived the nuclear bomb in the first place was also a blur. But how he came to 2020 and took revenge was a bit missing. The story telling of Sigma’s past was done great though as it gave us enough reasoning why he became someone who loathed Tae Sul. But for me, it’s hard to ignore the plot holes and the pace of the plot.Īs I mentioned above, the plot quality went down bit by bit each ep but I felt like it significantly went down after Sigma was fully introduced. The drama is actually fine if you close your eyes on the plot holes and not take it seriously. The process of Tae Sul learning that he was ultimately the one who destroyed Seoul was also good, it wasn’t over the top imo. Many time travel dramas only have the already made portal or time machine for them to go back in time (e.g Tomorrow With You, Alice) but STM required the leads to find and make the time machine to save the world. The concept of uploader downloader was also good.

If it’s executed very well then the drama will be super fun and vise versa. Time travel dramas are generally fun but very tricky to execute. Long story short, she came to 2020 using uploader (time machine), met Tae Sul and learnt that he actually the one who invented the time machine.īefore we start this review, I just wanna say that this post is probably not gonna be the prettiest review out there since I have many complains. She believed that by saving Han Tae Sul the disaster could have been prevented. Kang Seo Hee decided to go back in time to save Han Tae Seul who lived in 2020. Those who survived were only few and they fought for food and medicine. According to Kang Seo Hee, Seoul was hit by nuclear bomb in 2020. STM told a story of a female warrior, Kang Seo Hee ( Park Shin Hye) who came from the future to save Han Tae Sul ( Cho Seung Woo). Sadly, as the ep progressed the quality dropped bit by bit. It was something that I needed at that time. STM was definitely promising and interesting during the first few eps. I followed it weekly, right after the eng sub’s available I would watch it right away. Oh well, that’s what everyone had expected. Sisyphus: The Myth was expected to be huge as it starred many famous actors, had huge budget and got constant promotion from JTBC.

I was SO looking forward for this drama because it’s a special drama to celebrate JTBC’s 10th anniversary.
